Gerald Eugene (Gerry) Fritts passed away on April 26, 2014. Gerry is preceded in death by Mary, his beloved wife of 59 years. Gerry is survived by sisters Winona, Adelia and Thelda, son Gene and wife Caren; daughter Ann and husband Vaner; daughter Nancy and son David. Gerry is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amy and husband Landry, Wesley and wife Linda, Andrew, Jordan, Joseph and wife Lindsey, Melissa, Zeke, Nathan, and Brooke, and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emmy, Kaelyn, and Kensley. Gerry was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on September 7, 1926 to Desi and Paul Fritts. He attended Kansas University, and then enlisted in the Air Force in 1945. After the war, Gerry attended Abilene Christian University and graduated in 1948 with a double major in Physics and Chemistry. Gerry was a geophysicist for oil companies in Houston, and worked until retirement at the age of 81. He was a lifelong member of Southwest Central Church of Christ. Gerry had a beautiful tenor voice and loved to sing in the church choir and sang tenor in barbershop quartets for many years. Gerry was a kind, gentle man who never had a complaint, and saw the good in every person and situation. A loving and caring father who will be deeply missed by all.  The family would like to thank all of Gerry’s friends and church family who have given their love and support to Gerry for many years.
